‘Trees’ Artist Statement

The Ambience Store Project was a year long program of exhibitions held at Queensland design institution Ambience Store, organised, curated and produced by Carrie McCarthy.
I was delighted to be invited to exhibit as part of this project and relished the idea of sharing my paintings and charcoal drawings in a relatively domestic setting after years of exhibting in more conventional white box gallery spaces.

Each project, of which there were 9 in all, featured three distinct spaces each dedicated to an artist to create a solo exhibition.

While the theme was domestic, the space was anything but, with multiple solo exhibitions taking part during each project.
